My talk in Mozilla:

http://weidesignoffice.squarespace.com/journal/2009/4/1/four-themes-of-future-web-data-self-world-and-life.html

I listed four themes for the future web, they are:

1. Data. Open, linked data and Metadata.

- Semantic web

- Human computation

2. Self. Self representation.

- Personalization

- Self extension

3. World. A connected world.

- Tangible interaction

- Contextual awareness

4. Life. A digitalized life.

- Virtual reality

- Service web

I also raised about the topics of:

1. What is design?

2. Designer’s multiple roles

3. Where indeed does innovation come from?

4. Customizable user centered design process.

  • I found it a little hard to digest this post. I tried a couples times but didn’t make much progress understanding this.

    1. What’s the logic behind the putting the four top-level aspects in parallel and why are they ordered in this way? i.e. I don’t feel it’s common to see these 4 terms representing the whole picture of the web.

    2. I think the topics appeared to be too general. People in different fields would think in different ways. From what perspective are you predicting the future, as a ux designer, software engineer, or Internet architect?

Could you elaborate on some of the details?

    Other thoughts?
